You can also read about my favorite apple themed ideas here and my favorite pumpkin themed ideas will be coming to a post soon!
If you're like me, you're a combination between, I can do this myself, and HEY! Just give me an easy printable and we are good to go. Lol! There's a middle ground in their somewhere, but I know all of you Mama's know what I'm talking about when I say, I just like to have something up my sleeve to keep the little people busy, happy, and occupied. So, with that being said, let's start with my favorite fall resources and then the remainder of the post will be easy ideas you can recreate with supplies you have on hand.
Okay, if you're looking for more easy at home/classroom ideas that you can just whip up, have up your sleeve or draw on the fly check out the ideas listed below! These are tried and true ideas that I've shared over on Instagram that my kids have LOVED and we have played many years or more than once.
Idea #1 Crayon Resist Watercolor Leaf Painting
Draw out some leaf shapes using various colors that you have water color paints for. Next, the adult will use a white crayon to write the numbers, letters, or words inside of each leaf. The child will paint the leaves the correct color and the mystery will be revealed as they paint.
Idea #2 Fall Sensory Bottles

Love these water bottles from Walmart (just a note, I learned the hard way to take the bottom silver piece off, they can cut a little one's hand if they take them off). These three bottles are:
Chickpeas
Fall Leaves from Dollar Tree and TriColored Pasta
Fall Leaves from Dollar Tree in Water
Other ideas: use fall table scatter from Dollar Tree, fall shaped pasta from Homegoods, use red, yellow and orange pom poms/bears/etc.
Idea #3 QTip Painting

Draw up some fall leaves in those pretty fall colors. Provide your child with paint and QTips to trace the leaves. This will build those muscles in your little one's hands that will eventually lead them into holding a pencil properly. Think fine motor skills and hand eye coordination!
Idea #4 Fall Leaf Border Pattern Making
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/d2e49a_437d6b6ce8ed47dcb9198d3bfa6dac49~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_980,h_980,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/d2e49a_437d6b6ce8ed47dcb9198d3bfa6dac49~mv2.jpg)
For this one I had this fall leaf border on hand that I needed to find something to do with. We took small erasers with coordinating colors to create and follow the pattern.
DON'T HAVE THIS BORDER? No problem!
Draw something similar onto a large piece of paper or into your child's notebook and use what you have. Don't have erasers? Try pompoms, pouch tops, counting bears, whatever you have in matching colors!
Idea #5 Leaf Name Sort
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/d2e49a_57c6ab835cb64f08aa634020e63c7b6a~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_980,h_980,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/d2e49a_57c6ab835cb64f08aa634020e63c7b6a~mv2.jpg)
Draw out leaves for each letter of your child's name. Make each one a variety of fall colors. Talk about the colors of fall. With matching dot stickers, write the letters of your child's name and let them decorate the leaves with the matching letters. Mix the colors, or don't.
Idea # 6 Fall Nature Frame

FALL NATURE STICKY FRAME 🍂 We did this last year, and it was SO fun — so I knew we had to do it again!
Prior to the nature hunt, hot glue 4 pop sticks together in a square shape. Hot glue a piece of contact paper behind the frame so that the “front” has a sticky interior area of the square.
Take your little outside and let them collect all their nature findings on their frame to see what will stick.
Idea #7 Magnetic Fall Painting

FALL MAGNETIC PAINTING 🍁🍂 This is such an easy but FUN way to paint with your kiddos! My boys LOVED THIS!
🍁Just draw out your fall items onto a paper plate. I did an apple, pumpkin and a leaf.
🍁Add a few drops of washable paint onto the plate
🍁Add a paper clip or two
🍁Use the magnet along the bottom of the plate to push the paint around
🍁BONUS: Cut and paste onto a price of construction paper once dried and read the sentence I see _________ in the fall! Fill in the blank with color or item words!
I hope that these easy at home fall leaf ideas are helpful to you! If you give any of these a try let me know over on Instagram @ourblessedhomeschool! I love to see your littles in action! Happy fall, friends!
